Telephones
When using a telephone in Australia there are a few differences. To dial long distance (50 km or more) you need to place the area code in front of the telephone number, which can vary from state to state. When making international calls, you need to dial 0011 followed by the country code. To phone the UK, for example, you dial 001144.
Please remember that you will have to pay for local and overseas telephone calls from your accommodation.
