Overview
Space Hotel is an ex-government building which has been completely refurbished and reopened in 2013. It is located in Melbourne’s CBD and near China Town, which has many bars, cafes and shops.
It is 20km from Melbourne airport and transfer time by car is likely to be around 30 minutes depending on the time of day you travel.
Rooms for Sport Lived customers
Sport Lived customers who chose Standard accommodation are booked in to a 4 bed dormitory with the following facilities:
- Bunk Beds

*Although towels are provided, we recommend customers take extra towels for the beach or to use after sports
Space Hotel also has a limited number of Twin and Single rooms. These may be available for a supplement.

There is a large communal Dining area, including an outside terrace.
Note: Guests are provided with plates and cutlery at reception when they check in. If they are not returned on check out they will be charged $10.
A Cool Bag and 2 padlocks may be useful to secure perishable items in the communal fridges.
Bar/Restaurant
Space has a bar & restaurant on-site called the Blue Moon Bar.
Beer, wine and spirits at a great price with nightly drink offers.
Nightly competitions including karaoke night and games nights.
Restaurant meals start around $10 and are served from 5.00pm every night with daily specials.

Space has a 24 hour front desk.
There is Swipe card key access to both Space and own room giving 24 hour access

There are 16 fixed computers for all guests to use that are free of charge in Space’s Internet Café. Each computer has a microphone and headset for Skype calls.
Free Wi-Fi throughout the building for Sport Lived customers, (maximum 4gb download per person per week)

A 10 minute tram ride to Flinders Street Station (within the Free Tram Zone)

Space Hotel Rules
Space have their own House Rules which customers have to agree to on arrival. Customers have to show their passport. Due to liquor license rules there is no BYO alcohol allowed at the Hostel. Any alcohol or illegal drugs being consumed can lead to eviction.
